With positivity week behind us here at Pretty Disturbia we are trying to be more hopeful and optimistic for the year ahead. A week that was dedicated to lifting our spirits and trying to maintain our New Year’s resolutions past the dreaded Blue Monday. It gives us a new lease of life and sense of assurance that we can get through another year. The Pretty Disturbia Dollies had a chat about our goals for 2022. But it got me thinking about New year’s resolutions and how they are such a funny concept. We decide to implement a change in our lives with the change of a year. I mean it makes sense I guess, leave bad habits in the previous year, be a better you for the new year. Change is good, it’s important for the soul. It avoids stagnation and boredom in our lives.

Common resolutions are to exercise more, eat healthier, quit smoking… lifestyle changes etc. etc. These are difficult tasks to do without a doubt, even more difficult when you’re struggling with a bad case of the January Blues. I wonder if the resolutions made are a contributing factor to those dreaded Blues? Not only are we sad the holiday season is over, but we’re broke, the weather is miserable, we’re back to work again and on top of all of that…. We’re on a diet that means we’re not allowed ice cream. How rude! Surely, January would be a lot easier to get through if we’re all making a conscious effort to do more things that make us smile, rather than going to the gym cause there’s a discounted joining fee. Don’t you think?

Positivity week reminds us of how crucial it is to try enjoy life to the fullest and how easy that can be when you’re surrounded by positive energies. Life isn’t fair, and it can be difficult and stressful. But it’s also so beautiful with endless opportunities for us to succeed and be happy. 22 is a Master Number, that symbolises Balance, Relationships, and Precision, to name a few. 22 also symbolises manifestation. I hope 2022 provides us all with this positive and powerful energy, allowing us to live in harmony and happiness. My New Year’s resolution is to be a reliable source of encouragement for those around me, spread kindness wherever and whenever I can, and finally, be happy!
